The intensive MFHA Higher Education mental health awareness and skills course has been created in consultation the leading student mental health charity Student Minds. The course was piloted in 16 universities and evaluated by the University of Chester.

This 1 day course will qualify you as Higher Education MHFA Champion, covering:

  • – A deep understanding of the issues that are related to students and staff mental health in Higher Education
  • – Provides you the ability to spot signs of mental ill health
  • – How to spot signs of mental ill health for people in Higher Education and how to guide them to a places where they can find support
  • – Knowledge and confidence in spotting signs of mental health issues
  • – Knowledge to help with recovery of someone’s mental health by guiding them to further support via a mix of ways such as self-help resources, through their employer or the NHS

Delivery

  • This is a 1 day classroom based face to face course
  • Learning will take place via a mix of presentations combined with group discussions and workshop activities
  • Numbers limited to 16 people per course ensuring people are getting the correct level of support during their learning

On completion you will get:

  • A certificate of attendance to say you are a Higher Education MHFA Champion
  • A Higher Education MFHA manual to refer to whenever you need it after your course
  • A workbook and a toolkit to support your own mental health
